The boxes that delivered the Furniture & Lights didn’t leave—they stayed and became the art.

At our Material Lab, we spent a year exploring materials that could withstand indoor conditions while adding emotional and tactile value to the space. We focused on elements that are not only durable but also meaningful in their context.

During our first visit to the Wipro HYD site, we noticed something that sparked an idea. Brand-new chairs and lights happily arrived in neat cardboard boxes. But soon, the boxes were discarded—flattened and about to depart.
This contrast became the beginning of a narrative.
We brought those discarded boxes back to our lab. They were pulped and mixed to reshape into intended forms. Months later, they return to the same space, placed beside the very items they once carried, now with a new role and purpose.
This space was designed by @beyonddesignarchitects, inspired by the changing seasons. We added a layer of narrative culture design, using material to bring discussions and everyday stories into the environment—like summer plans discussed over lunch, winter trips that taught lessons, or a childhood story shared over coffee.

In many modern workspaces, bold wall quotes became popular starting in the early 2010s. While intended to motivate, these quotes often lacked connection to the space or people. They became visual fillers—detached from real emotion, authentic meaning, or forced brand values.
In contrast, the material artworks here are not just for decoration. They support conversation, reflection, and a sense of connection. They remind us to value what once served a purpose. To recycle, to reuse, and to remember that no material—and no moment—is ever truly waste.

This approach reflects Wipro’s ongoing commitment to employee well-being and meaningful workplace design. The space was co-designed with Wipro to support emotional connection, sensory comfort, and collaboration. It is a place that encourages people to engage, both with each other and with the environment around them.
